Early in the morning both my wife and I were sleeping when we were awoken by a high pitch tone from the T.V. The local emergency broadcast system was on and the announcer, who sounded like our mayor with his heavy southern accent, was telling all citizens to go to the Air Force Base in town. “Citizens of San Angelo, there is an emergency situation and everyone needs to seek shelter at Goodfellow.” We looked at each other for a minute as the message repeated itself over and over again then without saying anything we got dressed and grabbed a few of our important items and got in her car. I guess everyone else slept with the T.V. on that night, because all the other folks in town were doing the same as us.
